Generally the Navratri in September/ October - called the Sharadha Navarathri is the more famous one as it is for householders; this navratri in March-April period is called Vasantha navarathri which is good for attaining success in endeavours. Lord Raama celebrated this to attain spiritual power to accomplish His Incarnation purpose - that of slaying Raavana. The Navami of this navaraathri is Shri Raama Navami - the birth celebration of Shri Raama.
