Orkut is just getting better and better, why ? Because they are constantly implementing features what user are suggesting, they are not just coming with a whole lot of features but instead they are coming with features which makes orkut even more more fun.

They just launched new orkut feature by which you can now create custom groups for friends as we do on our mobile phone book :P. So it is even easier to maintain, though groups were their ie. as friend, best friend, acquaintances etc. but they were ready made and you can only use them.

But now as they have made it easier to define own group, rename current group, so it is of real nice use. eg.
If you work in a company and wanted to have list of employees who work with then just create group “company” and add all of them into it and list goes on . So it is cool and easy!

Did you see, orkut is now really quick in adopting new features which were missing from long time, I think after implementation of new look to ORKUT they are now more comfortable to add new features to orkut. Another new feature added :

Send you introduction with friend request

I missed this one from day one I joined orkut. Infact we are using such feature from long in messenger like Yahoo where whenever we a buddy, we can give a brief introduction about ourself making it easy for both for further friendship.

If you have noticed , then there is new feature now in orkut, it will actually allow you to disallow scraps for people who are not your friend.

Disable / Ban / Restrict Scrapping in orkut by other people

While replying a scrap, you might notice a new feature added to Orkut. Most probably Orkut India. You will see a list of Languages in drop down menu and when you will select one language from that menu, you will see its keyboard online just below scrap, so you can type easily.

Orkut just added a nice small feature, that is [S][A][M] & [T][E][M].
Lets discuss:

What is [S][A][M] & [T][E][M] or what is their use / meaning ?

Actually you will see [S][A][M] attached with profile or name of friends and [T][E][M] with name of community or community listings. They are shortcuts for certain links on orkut related to that user or community.

This trick is very simple, its nothing like something new yet many people do not think of using the feature this way.

Visit someone’s profile in stealth mode or invisible mode without letting your name listed in recent vistors ie. ANONYMOUSLY !

All you need is to change few setting in your orkut account while you want to visit profiles in stealth mode and when you are done then set back to normal.

So login to your orkut account :
Goto Settings -> Privacy -> Profile Visitors
There select Hide profile visits

Now surf in stealth mode, no one will know that you visited their profile.

Orkut recently introduced yet another new feature, by this feature you will have a list on your ORKUT PROFILE HOMEPAGE showing who has done changes in their profile. It may include notifications of modification in their profile description, adding new photos to their profile, receiving new testimonial or uploading new youtube videos. So you will have list of recent changes done by your friend in front of you.

You may have seen many people announcing in their name area that new photo uploaded etc, I think this the reason for Google / Orkut guys to roll out this feature and is the source for inspiration for them.

Yesterday Orkut rolled out much awaited new looks to ORKUT.
They Named it : True Blue Simplicity
Orkut, a social networking website from Google. It is one of the most accessed website in the world and top social networking website in Brazil & India.
So here is the new looks :
